Wayne Goff preaching at Traders Point Fall Meeting 11-October-2005 This year's Fall Gospel meeting at Traders Point will have Wayne Goff preaching here for the first time. Brother Goff (age 51) was born to A.W. & Nadine Goff in Fort Scott, Kansas where his father was preaching at the time. They moved around frequently during his childhood, as his father preached in Kansas, Illinois and Arkansas. He attended Florida College (72-74) and obtained an Associates in Arts degree. Brother Goff married Emily Harris in May of 1974 and began preaching in Yellville, Arkansas. Since that time he has preached locally for churches in Morrilton, Arkansas, Searcy, Arkansas, Kilgore, Texas and Kansas City, Missouri. He has also held Gospel meetings in the states of Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Indiana, Michigan, Florida, and Georgia. Additionally, he was invited to speak at the Florida College Lectureship in 1993 on the subject of "The Word Was God" (an exposition of John 1:1-18). He has written some articles for publication in The Preceptor, With All Boldness, and Christianity Magazine. He and his wife Emily have three adopted children: Rebecca Joy (25), twin boys Kevin & Randy (22). Rebecca is married to Matthew Kusters and they have three children: Gabe, Anna and Emma. Emma was just recently born on September 17th! Kevin lives in Raymore, Missouri and is pursuing mechanical work. Randy attends college in Columbia, Missouri and will graduate next spring with a degree in business.
Brother Wayne feels that God has blessed his family richly as he and
Emily have enjoyed 31 years of marriage together! His desire to preach
the Gospel was strongly influenced by his father, A.W. Goff, who is 76
and continues to preach in Russellville, Arkansas. Other gospel
preachers who had an impact on his life because of their preaching,
their character, and their personal lives include Paul Lusby and Harold
Sharp, both of whom are deceased. Brother Goff preaches for the Roanridge Church of Christ, located in the north central part of Kansas City, near Kansas City's International Airport. He has worked with this congregation for just over eleven years. Their Sunday morning attendance averages around 130-140. They are a growing congregation and currently enlarging the auditorium for the second time since he has been there. Our meeting this Fall will be the week of November 6-11. Weekday lessons will be at 7pm. Brother Goff is planning on preaching the following lessons: Sunday Bible study ~ Opinion, Knowledge and Faith
