Gospel meeting with Dee Bowman concludes 12-May-2003 An exciting and spiritually uplifting week of lessons from Dee Bowman, Pasadena, Texas concluded on Friday May 9. The long awaited Spring gospel meeting has come to an end, with both members and visitors alike agreeing that many were profited and encouraged by the very capable way brother Bowman presents the Word of God. Two responded to the invitation during the week, with Kevin Colvin Jr being baptized Friday evening. His sister, Christine, was baptized the previous week (May 1 Thursday), making the past two weeks particularly joyous for the Colvin family. Attendance was the highest for any meeting remembered at Traders Point in recent years. All eight lessons had audiences well-exceeding 200 (Friday evening was the largest at 247), with an average of 235 for the week. Many visitors from the community and other area congregations helped swell our numbers. Brother Bowman's straight forward preaching of the truth gave each of us reason to come back to hear each lesson he taught. We all were certainly humbled and inspired to be better servants of the Lord as a result of Dee's excellent lessons preached right from the heart. Everyone was sad to see him go, but all feel even better prepared to live our lives for Christ. Our Fall gospel meeting will be held November 2-7 and will feature Gerry Sandusky, of Madison, Indiana. More will be forthcoming later this summer concerning this meeting and a bio on brother Sandusky.
